iPhone 13 Pro user tries out the new iPhone 15 Pro: The changes are subtle

Image
It’s been two years since the iPhone 13 Pro launched. How does its specs stack up against that of the iPhone 15 Pro? Is it time for an upgrade? Here’s what I thought after using the iPhone 15 Pro at an Apple Store. So, recently I had the good fortune of visiting my local Apple Store and trying out the new iPhones. As an iPhone 13 Pro user, I was curious to find out if there are really any major changes two years down the iPhone generation. Objectively speaking, tech journalists have written articles pointing out  50+ changes between these two generations of iPhones . But these are objective. There are some changes you might not notice at all if you don’t have a keen eye for these specs. Source: Author | iPhone 15 Pro on the left and iPhone 13 Pro on the right This is why I thought, I should be writing this story to point out some notable changes I saw between these two generations and how much significance they hold for someone who is thinking about the upgrade. For any smartphone, the

The end of the Blue Bubble vs Green Bubble war? : Apple announces RCS support for iMessage

Image
An Apple spokesperson confirms Apple’s move to support RCS for iMessage to improve interoperability across cross-platform apps, compared to SMS or MMS that it currently uses. Source: Author | Apple adopts RCS support for iMessage Google has been relentlessly campaigning against the inferior messaging protocol that Apple adopts for its messaging platform on iOS and has tried to push them to adopt RCS for years now. Every trick was used to force Apple, from  memes on Twitter/X  to even  roadside billboards . A few weeks ago, the  competitors took it up to the EU again  (I lost count of how many times) to force Apple to adopt the universal messaging protocol known as RCS instead of sticking to SMS or MMS. Just a few days ago, the founder of Nothing (an Android OEM), came out announcing ‘iMessage for Android’ — a mishap of a way to sign in with your Apple ID on an unknown Mac Mini to access your iMessage chat on the Nothing Phone 2.    I am not sure which one of the three — Google, EU, or

Mahabharat Breakdown #5: Our fault and the Ones fighting the inner battle

Image
Source: Disney+ Hotstar | Krishna and Arjuna How relevant are the lessons from Mahabharat in today’s time? What can we as a country, society, or an individual learn from the great Epic?  DISCLAIMER:  The article aims to highlight only the arguments portrayed in the TV Series. For authentic facts and their disclosure, the original text should be referred to. Pranipaat 🙏 In our last few breakdowns of the Mahabharat show, we discussed the faults of the three greatest personalities in the Epic that led to the war. You can read them below by clicking here . Our main highlight throughout these last few breakdowns has been that: The world suffers not because of the actions of bad people, but because good people choose to ignore the righteousness in their hearts and turn a blind eye to injustice. While this ugly truth still stands true, this wouldn’t be a great lens to view the world — by judging others around you to be good or bad. It might almost turn any sane person cynical. So what do w

I Tried Bullet Journaling for 60 Days — 3 Reasons It Didn’t Work Out For Me

Image
Source: Author | Bullet Journal Yes. I tried my best but Bullet Journaling or BuJo, as some Productophiles call it, didn’t work out for me. At all. I did the usual:  Bought a square-grid A5 notebook, a 0.3mm tip black pen, and surfed hours on YouTube and Pinterest for BuJo ideas. It’s not like starting something new found resistance from my mind. I have done digital journalling before using apps like  Day One  and  Stoic . But when I decided to reduce digital distractions a few months back, I had to cut loose on some corners and decided to give analog journalling a chance. Hence, the Bullet Journal.  After two months of persistent effort, I realized — It was not working for me. And I think I know why: 1. Privacy Concerns 🧐 The fact that someone could just open up the Journal and read from it gave me sleepless nights. Okay, fine… it was just one night. But the thought lingered on. It prevented me from sharing more in my BuJo —  the constant thought of what would someone think if they r

I Updated My 2015 15" MacBook Pro to macOS Sonoma — One Month Review

Image
I never thought my beautiful 8-year-old electronic buddy would ever see the light of a new macOS update after Apple officially dropped support for it a year ago. My Mac was stuck on  macOS Monterey  and while it did receive security updates, I felt left out every time I saw the new cosmetic changes & functional features in the newer macOS versions. And so, after being a good-loyal Apple user for a year and sticking to official macOS updates, I decided to…  THINK DIFFERENT . It’s more fun to be a pirate than to join the navy. -Steve Jobs (Co-Founder of Apple Inc.) 📬 Overview  Before we proceed, let me tell you — this is no black magic! You can do it on your unsupported Macs too. This is the magic of  Open Core Legacy Patcher or  OCLP . Source: Author | My 2015 15" MacBook Pro on macOS Sonoma’s login screen The macOS Sonoma update for OCLP came just a few days after Apple officially released it for the supported Macs and while it is a bit unsafe to jump on the first release, I

Nursing Homes: Ethics Vs Logic & The Dilemma of a Harmonious Society

Source: Author | An Old Lady sitting by the window The old lady sat by the window continuously staring outside even though the blazing sun overhead made it a tough choice for her. For hours and hours, she would keep peeking out without uttering a single word. Was she looking at the trees? or the guards by the gate? or the stay dogs and cats? Only she knew. It had been three years since her beloved son had left her there. Three years since she had seen his face. Three kilometers away yet not a single contact in three years. The trauma had started off the trail of an incognizant disease that was making her forget things slowly. She remembered having a son but nothing else - not the sacrifices she had made for him when he was a kid, not the fights she had with him as he grew up, not even the happy moments they shared. Fortunately or unfortunately, neither did he seem to remember. Yet, the old lady, oblivious, kept looking towards the gate longingly for that s
